Storm Lake Community Education

Storm Lake Youth Tackle Football Camp is a competitive football program that teaches participants the fundamentals of tackle football in a safe & controlled environment.

Participants will practice once a week, have a scrimmage and finish with a intra-squad game.

Storm Lake Youth Football Camp will be organized and run by trained coaches. The program is designed to be a progressive series of skills to properly learn tackle football. The program is intended to put an emphasis on having participants learn football skills. Community Education and the High School Football program believes that the proper way to teach first time tackle football participants is to focus on practices over games. Tackle camp is in addition to flag football. We ask that participants participate in both flag football and tackle camp.

Tackle Camp will use USA Football’s “Heads Up” tackling program. Participants will be taught proper tackling techniques and will have to demonstrate those techniques before being able to tackle other participants.

Participants will work on blocking, tackling, offensive principals and defensive principals. All drills will build on previous drills.

There will be a focus on safety in all practices, scrimmages and games.
